The term articles of incorporation denotes a legal document which a company is required to create and certify upon incorporation.

This document outlines the activities in which the public company will participate, and the rules governing the corporation.

In Switzerland, companies are required to create articles of incorporation (German: Statuten) when they become a corporation (German: Aktiengesellschaft). The term articles of incorporation is synonymous with the term corporate charter.
