Capitalization Table

A capitalization table – also known as a cap table – is a ledger which tracks and defines the ownership of a company at any given point in time. Information listed in capitalization tables includes the shares of ownership held by different shareholders and the allocation of shares.

In the case of public companies, ownership of public registered shares is typically tracked in a share register.
