The mobile roaming calculator by moneyland.ch lets you choose between a number of preset user profiles for quick calculations.
When you select a preset user profile, calculations are based on the following assumptions of your telecom use over a 30-day period. When you enter a roaming period shorter or longer than 30 days, results are recalculated based on the number of days you enter. Note that the calculator accounts for per-minute billing of roaming calls. You can find more bases for calculation here.
Infrequent user: “I seldom use my phone for data roaming and only make sporadic calls while traveling abroad.”
Infrequent user: Roaming use in country of destination per 30 days:
- Data roaming: 300 MB
- No SMS messages
- 12 incoming 2-minute phone calls
- 12 outgoing 2-minute phone calls to Switzerland
- No outgoing phone calls to local phones in your destination country.
Occasional user: “I occasionally use data roaming on my mobile phone and make one phone call per day on average.”
Occasional user: Roaming use in country of destination per 30 days:
- Data roaming: 750 MB
- No SMS messages
- 30 incoming 2.5-minute phone calls
- 30 outgoing 2.5-minute phone calls to Switzerland
- No outgoing phone calls to local phones in your destination country.
Frequent user: “I regularly use my phone for data roaming and make several phone calls per day.”
Frequent user: Roaming use in country of destination per 30 days:
- Data roaming: 3000 MB
- No SMS messages
- 80 incoming 2.5-minute phone calls
- 80 outgoing 2.5-minute phone calls to Switzerland
- 80 outgoing 2.5-minute phone calls to local phones in your destination country.
Low data user: “I sometimes use my phone for data roaming but never make phone calls.”
Low data user: Roaming use in country of destination per 30 days:
- Data roaming: 300 MB
- No SMS messages
- No incoming phone calls
- No outgoing phone calls
Heavy data user: "I regularly use my phone for data roaming but never make phone calls.”
Heavy data user: Roaming use in country of destination per 30 days:
- Data roaming: 3000 MB
- No SMS messages
- No incoming phone calls
- No outgoing phone calls
