I heard that the Billag TV tax is going down. Can you tell me how much I can expect to pay in the future?
Hi there,
According to the Federal Council, households in Switzerland will pay 1 Swiss franc per day (365 francs per year) for television and radio licenses from January 1, 2019.
Best regards from Moneyguru
As of January 1, 2019, collection of Swiss TV and radio license fees is being administrated by newly created debt collection firm Serafe, which has replaced Billag. A standard fee of 365 per year will automatically be charged to each household in Switzerland. Consumers who do not access services provided by public Swiss radio and TV broadcasters are no longer entitled to apply for exemptions. Exemptions for pensioners continue to apply.
