Can a relative caring for children claim a childrens pension in Switzerland?

Because of the lifestyle decisions which my son and his girlfriend have made, I have basically taken over the care of their two children. The kids live with me several months at a time while their parents travel, and I cover the cost of all their needs.

Can I as the children's grandparent claim a child's pension from social security to help cover the costs of raising the kids?

If you are raising children, you may be entitled to a childrens pension from the social security office. You may also be able to claim a childrens pension from your occupational pension fund (2a). Inquire at your local social security office and your occupational pension fund.
