Unlike standard employees which only make social security contributions if they earn at least 2300 Swiss francs annually, home-based employees like babysitters must pay contributions starting from the first franc earned.
Your employers (the parents you babysit for) are also required to pay half of contributions.
However, if you are 25 years old or younger and earn less than 750 francs per year off your employment, you are not obligated to contribute to social security. You can still request that your employer pay their share of social security contributions if you choose to.
