Does Swiss Household Insurance Cover Caravans?

Not long ago I bought a brand new German caravan. I plan to use it for camping trips at some point in the future, but for the moment I keep it parked in the garden where it serves as a guest room.

My question is whether and how the caravan is insured when it is not on the road being pulled by my car. Is fire, hail, theft, etc. covered by my household insurance even though the caravan is in the garden and not in the house? Is it covered at all? Do I need to get a special insurance for it?

The caravan is worth over 50,000 Swiss francs, so you can probably understand my concern.

Most Swiss household insurance policies do not cover caravans. However, some insurers (namely Allianz, Sympany and Zurich) let you insure caravans by adding an optional rider to your household insurance policy.
