Hi there,
A number of Swiss health insurance providers do partner with retailers to provide discounts to their policyholders.
Examples of policyholder discounts on personal care products at drug stores are:
1. Sun Store pharmacies: Assura, Groupe Mutuel and Supra policyholders get a 10% discount on perfumes and personal care products, home and garden products, over-the-counter drugs and birth control pills.
2. Zur Rose pharmacies and mail-order pharmacy: Variable discounts (up to 35%) on non-prescription products for Visana policyholders. 10% online store discount on non-prescription products for Helsana and SWICA policyholders.
Other insurance providers may offer similar discounts on either a permanent or an ongoing basis.
If you spend a significant amount of money on purchases from partner retailers, the savings potential of discounts can be significant. However, when choosing an insurance provider, discounts should not be a primary consideration. Other factors such as premiums and customer satisfaction play a more important role in overall savings.

Customer loyalty programs offered by drug stores provide another avenue for saving, regardless of which insurance company you are insured by. It is worth noting that drug store network Amavita offers a customer loyalty program which entitles customers to a 10% discount on select products and lets them collect points redeemable for cash back or store credit. Coop Supercard program members can earn Superpoints on purchases from Coop Vitality stores.
Some supplementary health insurance policies coverall or part of the cost of homeopathic remedies, over-the-counter drugs and certain other healthcare products which are not covered by compulsory health insurance.
