How would one go about insuring an automous vehicle in Switzerland?
Hi there,
Swiss law currently requires all vehicles to be controlled by a (human) driver in order to use public roads. Liability for accidents caused by vehicles falls on the vehicle's owner. Vehicle owners' are required to take out mandatory car liability insurance.
As automous technology is developed and tested, new legal regulations and insurance models will be developed. Most insurance experts agree that liability for accidents caused by automous cars - if and when their use becomes legal - will fall on manufacturers rather than owners or drivers.
