I am upgrading to underfloor heating and would like to know how to insure this. Are leaks and other hazards of underfloor heating covered by buildings insurance or do I need special insurance for this?
Hi there,
Hydraulic underfloor heating is typically covered by water-damage insurance. Water-damage insurance is typically offered as a stand-alone policy or as an optional rider which can be added to buildings insurance.
Review your buildings insurance policy to find out whether you already have water-damage insurance. If you do not, taking out this insurance before you install underfloor heating may be a good idea.
