Hi,
I need/want to get a loan but I have only lived in Switzerland since September 2017. Would I be able to get a loan as a relative newcomer?
Thanks

Hi there,
As a general rule, Swiss lenders offer loans to individuals who hold B or C residence permits and have been resident in Switzerland for at least 1 year. The waiting period allows prospective borrowers to build a credit history in Switzerland (by not obtaining negative ZEK or debt collection register entries, for example).
There are exceptions to this rule and you could consider speaking to a bank representative and explaining your situation.
Best regards from Moneyguru
