I sent in a letter of notice to terminate my insurance policy. So far I haven't heard anything back from the insurance company, so I don't know whether my policy will be terminated or not. Shouldn't the insurance company confirm the termination?
Hi there,
Insurance companies are not obligated to send confirmation of policy termination. From a legal perspective, the action is confirmed when the second party receives the notice. As long as the notice is properly delivered, confirmation is not necessary. The insruance company should contact you if for any reason the termination is not in line with your agreement.
