Professional liability insurance for shared business premises

I rent a workshop where I repair classic cars three days per week. Another mechanic rents the workshop the other three days of the week. Both of us keep equipment and cars at the workshop, and I am worried that I might damages his equipment or cars as I go about my work.

I have professional liability insurance, but I don't know if they would cover liability for incidents which I have in my own workshop. How does this work?

Although you share your business premises with another business, the two businesses are separate legal entities. This means that your professional liability insurance should cover the cost of liability claims made by the other business which shares your premises.
