Transfer of lease and landlord's plans for construction works

I want to leave early from my rental contract (reprise de bail) and therefore I am trying to find a replacement tenant for my apartment. However, after I gave my resignation letter the landlord decided to take the occasion and he is going to do some construction works in the apartment after the date of the contract termination. Also, in 3-4 months he is going to do a second set of construction works. Because of that all the potential candidates are unwilling to sign the transfer of lease, they simply do not want to suffer the construction works. In other words, the landlord's plans make impossible the transfer of lease. In this situation is there some legal way to be released from the contract?
