Initial Digital Offering (IDO)

The term initial digital offering (IDO) denotes an event during which a company offers security tokens to investors in order to raise capital. While the term is typically used synonymously with the term security token offering (STO), it has a broader connotation and may include initial exchange offerings (IEOs) and even initial coin offerings (ICOs).

The SIX Digital Exchange (SDX) – a subsidiary of the SIX Swiss Exchange – aims to provide a regulated Swiss platform for IDOs. The Gibraltar Blockchain Exchange (GBX) – a subsidiary of the Gibraltar Stock Exchange (GSX) – operates a regulated platform for utility token IDOs.
