The Borsa Istanbul (BIST) is the primary stock exchange of Turkey. More than 700 financial services providers and commodities brokers participate in the exchange.
More than 500 companies are listed on the BIST.
In addition to its role as a securities exchange, the BIST is also a key commodities exchange for the precious metals, diamond and precious stone industries.
Products traded on the exchange include stocks, warrants, exchange traded funds (ETFs), certificates, options, futures, lease certificates and debt instruments.
Three sub-markets, the Precious Metals Market, Precious Metal Lending Market, and the Diamond and Precious Stone Market, specialize in the exchange of contracts based on precious metals and precious stones.
The BIST 30, BIST 50, BIST 100 (XU100) indexes track the performance of stocks listed on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
