Long Term Stock Exchange (LTSE)

The Long Term Stock Exchange (LTSE) is a U.S. stock exchange which caters to companies looking for long-term investment. It aims to accomplish this by requiring companies seeking to list on the exchange to submit to rules which discourage short-term investment and reward long-term investors.

Founded in 2019, the LTSE introduced the concept of tenure voting. In this concept, the voting power of shareholders is directly correlated with the period of time over which they hold their shares. The longer a shareholder has held a share in a stock, the greater their voting power in the company. This concept encourages investors to hold their shares over longer terms. Critics argue that tenure voting gives too much voting power to big investors who can afford to hold shares over long terms in spite of fluctuations.

Trading on the LTSE is carried out electronically.
