Marc Faber (* 1946)

Marc Faber is the publisher of the Gloom, Boom & Doom Report for investors.

After earning a doctorate in economics from the University of Zurich, Faber worked for White Weld & Company Limited in New York and Hong Kong, before moving to Drexel Burnham Lambert. In 1990 he founded his own fund, Marc Faber Limited.

Faber achieved fame in the investment community with his monthly newsletter, the Gloom, Boom & Doom Report, and his lucid and controversial commentaries on international economic events. His investment philosophies have received broad coverage from international media.

Like fellow investor Jim Rogers, Faber is an eloquent critic of the Federal Reserve and its decisions regarding interest rates. According to Faber, the future belongs to Asia rather than to the U.S. and European countries.

Dr. Doom, as Faber is sometimes called, is also famous for his accurate predictions of several financial crises, including the last major banking crisis.
