Prepaid Card

A prepaid card is a type of payment card which is linked to an account. The cardholder must deposit money into the linked account after which the card can be used to make payment orders up to the limit of the assets held in the account.

Prepaid cards provide much of the functionality provided by credit cards, including a card number and security code. However, they do not allow cardholders to make purchases on credit.

All payments are debited directly from a prepaid account. Because of this, prepaid cards are more closely related to debit cards.

You can compare Swiss prepaid cards by selecting the "Prepaid card" filter in the moneyland.ch credit card comparison.
