Swiss National Bank Inflation Forecast

The SNB Inflation Forecast is a quarterly index which is published by the Swiss National Bank (SNB) on a quarterly basis based on its monetary policy assessment. The index predicts developments in the Swiss franc’s inflation rate.

The index is conditional in that it is based on the assumption that the interest rate charged or paid by the SNB for reserves held on behalf of commercial banks will remain unchanged. For this reason, it is often referred to as the SNB Conditional Inflation Forecast.

The SNB Inflation Forecast is important in that it is one of the key factors used by the SNB when determining its interest rate.
