Swiss National Guarantee Fund

The Swiss National Guarantee Fund (NGF) is a Swiss association based in Zurich.

The NGF covers damages (dents, for example) caused by unidentified third party vehicles. Damages to parked cars caused by vandalism are not covered by the NGF. In Switzerland a deductible of 1000 francs applies to NGF claims.

Funds used to finance this guarantee fund are generated through the compulsory liability car insurance. Every year, owners of a light vehicle pay CHF 3.40 towards this fund. Motorcyclists pay CHF 1.70.

Association membership is made up of Swiss insurance companies which provide car insurance. These include ACE, AGA, AIG, Allianz, Aurora, AXA, Basler, Die Mobiliar, Generali, HDI, Helvetia, SBB Insurance, PostFinance, Sympany, Vaudoise, VZ and Zurich.
