VSMI Index

The Volatility Index on the SMI (VSMI) is an index which tracks the performance of the highest market capitalization stocks listed on the Swiss Market Index (SMI), the primary index of the SIX Swiss Exchange.

This index differs from the Swiss Market Index (SMI) in that it tracks volatility on the exchange rather than stock prices or market capitalization.

VSMI rates are calculated based on SMI options which are traded on the Eurex exchange. The purpose of the VSMI is to enable investors to trade based on the volatility of the Swiss market.
