Wi-Fi (sometimes written as WiFi, Wifi or wifi) is the marketed term for the IEEE-802.11 wireless local area network (WLAN) certification standard for wireless networking devices.

Due to the broad marketing of the certification standard, the term Wi-Fi is often used synonymously with the term WLAN.
