Swiss online store operator Digitec Galaxus, which is part of the Migros Group, has begun offering an Internet plan under its own brand in March 2025.
It has been nearly six years since Digitec Galaxus first entered the telecom space with its mobile plans. The mobile service provider was initially branded as Digitec Connect, but was rebranded to Galaxus Mobile in May 2023. Now, with the launch of the new home Internet plan, the telecom brand has been shortened to just Galaxus.
An overview of the Galaxus home Internet plan
The newly-launched home Internet plan from Galaxus has a maximum connection speed of 10 Gbps and a price tag of 39 francs per month. In order to use this plan, you must have an optical fiber connection from Swisscom, Sunrise, or one of around 75 other local fiber network operators.
The customer-friendly terms and conditions are the highlight of the Galaxus home Internet offer. While nearly all other Swiss home Internet providers require a minimum subscription term – typically 12 or 24 months – Galaxus has no minimum contract term at all. If you are unhappy with the plan, or if your needs change, you can simply terminate the connection at the end of the following month.
Multiple-plan discounts for home Internet
The Family + Friends option from Galaxus lets you add up to four other people to your Family + Friends group. These can be family members, friends, or simply acquaintances who want a Galaxus plan. For each person you add to your group, you and each of the group’s other members receive a one-franc discount per month and plan. If you add four people to the group, all members will pay four francs less per month. The discount applies on a per-customer basis, so it is not possible for one person to get a Family + Friends discount for both a Galaxus home Internet plan and a Galaxus mobile plan.
There is also a five-franc student discount that students can claim.
No special promotions
Galaxus is sticking to the strategy of using fixed, low prices that it first adopted for its mobile plans in May 2023. That means you will pay the same price as other customers, regardless of when you subscribe. Galaxus completely abstains from special promotional offers for its mobile and home Internet plans.
Future plans
Galaxus has already announced certain plans for the future of its telecom services:
- Internet over coaxial cable networks: Galaxus plans to offer a cheaper plan for hybrid fiber coaxial (HFC) networks in the summer of 2025. The details have not yet been announced, but it is likely that Galaxus will use the Sunrise cable network (formerly the UPC cable network) for this offer.
- TV plans: From Summer 2025, Galaxus will offer a TV plan along with its home Internet plan.
There are no plans of offering a landline phone service.
How the Galaxus offer compares with plans from competitors
39 francs per month is a very affordable price for high-speed home Internet, as a comparison with competing offers shows. In practice, the difference between a 1 Gbps and a 10 Gbps connection normally is not noticeable.
The table below shows the monthly fees for home Internet plans with a speed of at least 1 Gbps. The comparison includes the cheapest service providers, plus the big three telecom companies Salt, Sunrise, and Swisscom.

Verdict by moneyland.ch telecom expert Ralf Beyeler
The new Galaxus home Internet offer is going to stir the market. A price-tag of 39 francs per month for high-speed Internet is very low. According to Swisscom’s official pricelists, other telecom service providers have to pay 33 francs per month for an XGS-PON connection with 10 Gbps. Then there is the nearly three francs of value-added tax (VAT) that must be deducted from the 39-francs you pay for Galaxus Internet plan. If we assume that Galaxus is paying the official Swisscom price of 33 francs, that would leave Galaxus with just three francs to cover all its other costs. That leads me to assume that Galaxus was able to negotiate a lower fee, and is therefore able to offer such a low price.
The announcement that Galaxus will begin offering Internet plans over cable TV networks in summer is also interesting. That would be a first in Switzerland, as up until now, third-party telecom service providers have not been given access to Swiss coaxial cable networks. Currently, the operators of coaxial cable networks have had a monopoly on Internet connections provided through their cable connections. A partial exception is Sunrise subsidiary Yallo, which offers home Internet through Sunrise’s cable network (formerly the UPC network).
