July 2, 2024 - Benjamin Manz

The online comparison service moneyland.ch is now part of the SMG Swiss Marketplace Group. moneyland.ch will continue to operate as an independent platform and will stay true to its mission of empowering consumers in Switzerland with unbiased financial product comparisons, calculators, and information.

With immediate effect, the SMG Swiss Marketplace Group AG is acquiring 100 percent of moneyland.ch AG. SMG owns numerous well-known online platforms, including AutoScout24, FinanceScout24, Homegate, Tutti, Ricardo, Anibis, and others.

Together with FinanceScout24, moneyland.ch will make up SMG’s Finance & Insurance division. The moneyland.ch brand, platform, and team will remain unchanged. moneyland.ch founder Benjamin Manz will continue to act as managing director.

Expertise and renowned comparisons

Since its founding in 2013, moneyland.ch has built up a solid reputation with its unbiased comparisons, calculators, analyses, and guides. Jochen Pernegger, Managing Director of Finance & Insurance at SMG, believes that the high-quality comparisons from moneyland.ch set new standards for the sector, and continue to do so. SMG looks forward to working together to drive its Finance & Insurance division, and profiting from the moneyland.ch team’s expertise and longstanding know-how.

SMG and moneyland.ch complement each other perfectly

With the acquisition of moneyland.ch, SMG gains important comparison services for consumers which its network previously lacked. “moneyland.ch, for its part, can benefit from SMG’s digital expertise and the network, reach, and brand awareness of established SMG platforms,” adds Benjamin Manz. These will enable the comparison platform to reach a much wider audience.

The neutrality of comparisons is not affected

moneyland.ch’s independence and absence of bias will remain fully intact. moneyland.ch will continue to operate as an independent brand within the SMG group, and will remain true to its mission of providing consumers in Switzerland with transparent and objective financial and insurance comparisons. SMG supports that mission, and views moneyland.ch’s independence as a key to its success. The decision-making processes and editorial guidelines will remain unchanged to ensure that the comparisons remain unbiased and independent.

Comparisons will remain free of charge

The moneyland.ch comparisons and content will remain free of charge for users. The integration in the SMG enables moneyland.ch to operate more efficiently. There is also a possibility that the integration will enable moneyland.ch to offer users even better deals from partners.
