Within the scope of individual insurance: the policyholder. Within the scope of household insurance: the policyholder and those persons who live with him/her permanently in the same household. Additionally: children under the age of 26, if they are not currently employed, even if they do not live in the same household.

Choice of legal representation:

Choice of legal representation: the insurance company has the right to reject a lawyer proposed by the insured person. The insured person may then propose three lawyers from different law firms in the relevant jurisdiction, from which the insurance company can select the lawyer to be appointed.

Termination of contract:

Both parties can terminate the contract: at the latest 1 month before the main due date. After every insured event for which a claim is payable.

Contract duration:

Minimum contract duration: 1 year. The contract will automatically renew for another year unless termination notice is given 1 month before the main due date.

Waiting period:

The insurance coverage will be granted if the legal case arose after a waiting period of 60 days after the commencement of the insurance.
It does not apply in tort law, criminal law and victim assistance law as well as in the case of prior insurance of the same risk and in the event of a seamless transition.
