Business Partnership

A business partnership is a binding agreement by which two or more people or entities to form a business. Partners may hold equal or unequal numbers of shares in the business partnership.

The categories of business partnerships which can be registered in Switzerland are: general partnership; simple partnership; limited partnership.

Unlike corporations, which are legal entities and are not directly linked to individuals, partnerships are not stand-alone entities.

The individuals which act as legal partners in a partnership are personally liable for actions performed by partnerships. The degree of liability carried by partners varies depending on the legal category of partnership.
