Notice period:

The insurer can terminate the contract at the latest 3 months before the end of the contract or calendar year.

Premiums and discounts:

Amount of premiums varies depending on the age, place of residence and gender of the insured person.

General ward: no co-payment.
Semi-private ward: no co-payment.
Private ward: co-payment of 35% (up to CHF 2000 per calendar year).

Discount when taking out a 3- or 5-year contract and for no claims.

Spa and convalescent therapy:

The insured persons receive up to CHF 80 per day up to CHF 2000 per calendar year for spa or convalescent therapies.

Maternity:

Childbirth costs are covered in listed hospitals throughout Switzerland. For an inpatient birth at a birth centre: at least CHF 1000. Outpatient birth at home: CHF 1500 per birth. Waiting period: 365 days.

Rooming in:

Stay of an accompanying person: CSS pays at most CHF 80 per day, up to a maximum of CHF 2000 per calendar year (in the case of minor children).

Home help:

No coverage.

Home care:

No coverage.

Emergency transport costs:

No coverage.

Hospital abroad:

Worldwide cover for emergency treatments only.

Rehabilitation stationary:

Choice between approved clinics, stay for a maximum of 90 days per calendar year.

Additional services:

Hospitalization and examination costs for newborns.
In-patient ligation (CHF 4000 per case).
Outpatient treatment in partner clinics: CHF 900 per calendar year and CHF 300 per calendar year for additional services (parking tickets, travel costs, childcare, etc.).
Transportation costs to avoid or shorten a hospital stay: CHF 1000 per calendar year.
Appreciation of CHF 1000 for voluntary stay in the less expensive general ward (stay of at least 4 days).
